Types of personal lubricant

Water-based lubricant
This type of lubricant feels like a viscous gel. The lubricant is absorbed by the skin after a while, so it also protects the skin and has a moisturising effect. High quality water-based lubricants never feel sticky and last a long time. They are ideal for a variety of applications and can be used with latex condoms. Water-based lubricant can be easily washed off with water.

Silicone-based lubricant
A silicone based lubricant is more fluid compared to a water based lubricant. The lubricant is not absorbed by the skin and therefore has a longer effect. They are ideal for use in the shower. On the other hand, you can't just wash them away with water alone, so you should also use soap. Some of these lubricants can stain the sheets. Silicone-based lubricant is not suitable for use with sex toys, but it is suitable for use with condoms. In any case, read the specifications that come with each product.

Oil-based lubricant
As the name implies, these lubricants are made on an oil basis. These lubricants feel different from the previous ones. Some resemble soft margarine and are used for fisting. Oil-based lubricants are absolutely not suitable for use with latex condoms.

Hybrid lubricant
A hybrid lubricant is a mixture of two types of lubricant, for example water-based and silicone-based. This type of lubricant has a different consistency compared to the other types. Some examples of hybrid lubricant are the highly sought after SPUNK Lube Hybrid and Mister B Fist Lube. They feel very nice and you can play fun games with them.
